We planned our wedding in 6 months and finding a venue was one of the most challenging aspects. We were looking for something quaint, intimate and an all inclusive venue. Deity was perfect! The atmosphere and ambiance was perfect. Caio, Jay and Camille are welcoming, knowledgable and helpful.  They paid attention to all details and gave us exactly what we wanted. From the  initial meeting to the wedding day, they all were accommodating.  Everything was amazing and it definitely was memorable and special.

You never really expect a place to be this exceptional. Good, maybe great, but so perfect? The entire preparation and process seemed so clear and straightforward, we were ‘almost’ concerned that they were missing something! Nothing could be further from the truth.

The food was incredible. We still hear about it. The worst thing about it was trying to make selections from the incredible list. That said, I imagine you could not choose something wrong.

The staff was flawless. They were the perfect balance of attention and discreetness. Each person did their role exceptionally. I’ve never been at a wedding where I saw so many guests take the unsolicited time to tell the bride and groom how thoughtful and professional that service and staff were during the event – for months afterward too! In fact, the team there stepped up and adapted to a few minor changes we (bride and groom) suggested during the event. No one even noticed the switch.

Deity flowed their process to meet our style, our family’s needs and our hopes for the event, not the other way around. Being an all-in place can seem concerning, but controlling your event is not what they are about. It was all about helping us craft it the way we wanted it. I can be occasionally accused of being too cynical, so it’s something for me to say that this was the best day of my life to date, and – marrying the love of my life aside! – it’s in part because of Deity.

We booked Deity as our wedding venue a year and half before the date of the ceremony. The moment Caio and Kristine gave us the tour of the venue we knew this was it.  They took care of everything and reassured us time and time again that everything was going to run smoothly. It was such a relief knowing there was little to worry about when it came to anything from food, linens, decor, etc and we were able to devote more time and energy to the small things to make our wedding, an epic day.  In that year and half, they seemed to improve the venue more and more every time we would talk with them.  When you decide to start the planning process with Deity, you want to worry about as little as possible and booking with Deity, they pretty much took care of everything. The food was beyond comparison, the drinks were ongoing, and the dj was spot on.  It was an all in one venue and we couldn’t have asked for more.  Not only is Caio and Kristen amazing to work with but the relationship turned into a friendship.  The wedding day was perfect and Jay (the event planner) was more than helpful.  The food was great, the atmosphere was amazing and everybody keeps talking about our wedding to this day. Thank you for everything Deity!!!! It was the wedding of the year for sure!!!!

We had our son’s bar mitzvah party at Deity in June. It was great. We had two of the floors – the main floor with the bar and tree for the adults and the downstairs lounge level for the kids and dancing. It was a lovely party – the kids had a great time and friends and family enjoyed it as well. Food was great and the service excellent. Caio and staff are very easy to work with. We got a lot of compliments during and after the party. Price was very reasonable and they work with you to stay in your budget.

My husband and I were married at Deity on September 7, 2013, and I have Deity’s owners and staff to thank for giving us the best night of our lives!

Deity is a “very Brooklyn” building located on Atlantic Avenue that was initially constructed as a synagogue around the turn of the century and is now an event space (i.e., all they do are weddings and parties). Each of it’s three floors has a very different feel — the upstairs loft space where we had our ceremony and dinner has exposed brick, hardwood floors and string lights; the cocktail lounge where we did our cocktail hour and cake cutting has stained glass windows and a giant tree growing in the middle of the room; and the basement dance floor area is perfect.

Deity is an amazing value — priced substantially lower than many other Brooklyn venues.

My husband and I celebrated our wedding with family and friends at this amazing venue. With us both from Brooklyn, its location was perfect. Before we talk about the venue, lets mention our amazing event coordinator who came complementary by the venue , Jay. He went out of his way to make us comfortable and keeping the momentum and spirit true to our expectations.  The staff was courteous and friendly.  And the DJ…TORE THE HOUSE DOWN!!!! Just make sure all that you discuss is included in the contract no surprises are brought up 2 weeks before the event. For us, is a discrepancy between verbal convos and the contract in regards to total amount of guests. Despite that mishap, the Deity provided us with the best wedding we had ever attended -OUR’s!!!!

Wedding review! (and a video with pictures below) We had our wedding at Deity on Friday 7/26/13 and I cannot say enough great things. We used to love it when it was a nightclub, so it was a perfect choice for us. Great location and beautiful space. From the moment we sent our first email with interest, Caio and Kristine (the adorable married owners) were responsive, friendly and helpful. They “got us” right away- suggesting food options and DJ that fit our personalities and the type of event we were hoping for. Throughout the process, they were always quick to reply to our questions. They let us come by a few times and bring our photographer for some test shots. The night of our event… perfection!! Caio and Kristine were there when we arrived to ensure everything was just right and introduced us to Kee who would take care of things later in the evening- Kee was great at checking in on us, keeping our glasses full and our guests happy. We chose to do passed hors d’oeuvres, and everything was delicious (guest favorites were the lobster rolls and chicken and waffle bites). The upstairs space is beautiful and the space is great- plenty of room for our ~150 guests to sit, stand, mingle and get a drink. We didn’t need to add any decorations, it was perfect as is. After about an hour upstairs with drinks and food we went downstairs to really get the party going. DJ Trauma played THE BEST MUSIC. It was like being in your most favorite nightclub, where the drinks are flowing, the music is amazing and all your best friends and family are there. Again, we didn’t need to decorate. We just brought some sunglasses, mardi gras beads and other stuff to add to the party vibe.  Since we have a party crew, we were still going when our official time at the space was officially over… but the staff was more than happy to stay later than they planned (we of course tipped them all very well for the extra time). The party continued until 2am! Oh, and beyond Deity being perfect, this was also by far the most cost efficient wedding venue…and we spent close to two years looking and were being really creative in cost-saving ideas. So many people came up to us on our wedding night and after saying how much fun they had and how it was so much better than a “typical” wedding where you’re sitting half the night picking at some cold terrible food. If you’re looking for a unique venue, with great food, drinks, music and people…..this is it. I’m already working on a plan to have an anniversary party here. The best night of my life!!!! Thank you Kristine, Caio, Kee and all the Deity staff for making our wedding a night we will never ever forget. This short video captures some of our party pictures… vimeo.com/72576481

The owners/managers are a husband and wife, and they were incredibly friendly, helpful, and responsive throughout the whole process — we rarely had to wait more than 24 hours for an email response, which is important especially when things are down to the wire.

They provide all the catering, tables, alcohol, staff, menu cards, even the DJ (for only $500 additional fee) — this was really important with us as we wanted to do as much “in house” as possible. That said, they regularly work with vendors and the set up of our flowers and cake went flawlessly, as did our ceremony musicians and the cocktail hour band. These guys are consummate professionals — our wedding was seamless.

The food was wonderful — they serve it either family style or buffet, and we went with family style. It was delicious, as were our signature cocktails. The only thing that might be an issue for some couples (not us) was that you cannot do a tasting prior to your event.  We trusted that the food would be great, and it was — but if it’s really important for you to try the food first, that could be an issue.

The staff was friendly, helpful, and unobtrusive — exactly what you want from the staff at your wedding venue. DJ Trauma was wonderful — we gave him a general sense of what kind of music we like and he put together an amazing playlist — no cheesy wedding music, just a really fun dance party vibe. HIGHLY RECOMMEND.

My partner and I stumbled upon this hidden gem about a year ago and booked it immediately for our wedding. From start to finish the owners were a sincere pleasure to work with and were able to accommodate our travel themed wedding down to the menu and drinks.

Fast forward to our wedding…the owners ensured that everything was set up just right and the space was beautiful. We were beyond impressed with the food – it was excellent. Both of us are foodies and were concerned about the quality and quantity only to be blown away the day of. All of our guests have since commented about the food and space.

The DJs we booked through the venue were amazing…the dance party went all night and everyone (EVERYONE) was dancing all night. I just wish I could relive it because it seriously was the best party I have been to.

It has been two weeks and guests are still commenting on how it was the best wedding they have ever been to. Some are already asking when we will renew our vows and to make sure it is at Deity.

If you are looking for the PERFECT venue with food that is sure to WOW your guests Deity is the place. The space is ideal for corporate functions, engagement parties, bridal showers and weddings. I can’t wait until we renew our vows at this hot spot.

We had our wedding ceremony & reception at Deity this past weekend and it was beyond expectations. The space is sexy and unusual and the three levels all had a specific vibe that was perfect for each stage of the wedding: the upstairs loft where we had the ceremony fit 100+ pp easily. Urban chic with floor-to-ceiling windows, exposed brick, lots of light, plus a serene bridal dressing room. The lounge where we had dinner was sexy with the stained glass, low lighting, lounge seating – perfect for guests mingling and sitting wherever they wanted. The food was delicious – Caio and Kristine tailored their menu offerings to suit our guests’ taste. And the nightclub was tops – DJ Vinnie laid a blanket of funk and delivered just what we wanted – a sexy party with no over-the-top wedding cheeze. Caio and Kristine were hands-on every step of the way and brought a relaxed sense of total ease that made our wedding just what we wanted.  Only comment: the wait service just needs to take the cake in the back to carve it up instead of in front of the guests because they were all tipsy and grabby by that time (the guests not the servers) and things got a little bit messy (but still all good). 5+ stars – love these guys, love this place. Highly recommended for weddings, parties, bar/bat mitzvahs – these guys can do anything. Mad props for Deity.

Deity is the party venue of your dreams!  I searched hi and low for that perfect spot to celebrate a big birthday and stumbled upon Deity at a friend’s b-day fete and fell completely in love.  The bar lounge with the gorgeous tree is what initially sold me, but I ultimately I had my party in the loft upstairs which was, incredibly, even better.  The loft is stylish with brick walls and hard floors, clean lines, sparsely and tastefully furnished, and an open but warm feel.  There was a bar in the center, room for catering, dancing, and just hanging.  The vibe was a mellow, candlelit, lounge-y apartment-style that would be perfect for any and every occasion.  Definitely dreamy, hi-end, Tribeca loft feel, gorgeous facade and nabe, and easy parking if you’re driving.  I received excellent service from the staff and had direct contact with the owners who were a true pleasure to work with.  Everyone who came to the party loved the space and the other floors of Deity, especially when we brought the party to the club downstairs to finish the night off.  I still dream of that loft and am looking forward to a reason to celebrate there again.  it was an AMAZING NIGHT!  Thanks, Deity!
